Brook and Charlie’s Wedding!

Saturday, September 6th, 2008 at 8:52 pm

Brook is married! We had a great time at Brook and Charlie’s wedding. Sunny and I walked onto the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry where we met Katie, Graham, and a few other party goers and traveled to Clinton. After debarking the ferry, we were met by a golf cart that drove us to the wedding. The wedding was right on the beach under a big white tent. We were met by Brook’s Mom who gave us each a big hug. We met John and Jessica and were later joined by Andre and Carrie. Later we would run into Eila and Mars and Alvin and Nora. The Frontier Bank crew took photos with Brook and Charlie on the beach before their first dance, which was to “At Last”. I’m sure Brook meant it when she picked that song!

Lazy Sunset on a Hammock in Maui

Thursday, September 4th, 2008 at 1:23 pm

Sunny and I found the perfect spot to spend our sunsets in Maui. Along the boardwalk that stretches the length of Ka’anapali beach there are a handful of hammocks strung between palm trees. I took quite a few lazy photos from those hammocks. We would rock ourselves to sleep above the beach. The waves lap methodically over the sand. Above us the sunset would bathe us in light. There is nothing like a sunset in Maui.

Our Honeymoon in Maui

Monday, August 25th, 2008 at 12:00 pm

Maui is paradise! Sunny and I spent sunsets swinging in a hammock above the beach and sunrises far above the clouds on a volcano. What an experience! We stayed at the Westin Resort & Spa on Ka’anapali beach in West Maui.

One Magical Night!

Saturday, August 16th, 2008 at 6:00 pm

Our reception was magical, the ambiance was perfect! We had strung paper lanterns in the backyard and created a bamboo frame over the dance floor. From the bamboo frame, called a hoopa, we had strung white lights. There was plenty food and drink, and enough chairs and tables for our guests to feel comfortable. We danced into the sunset! At the end of the evening our friends surrounded Jessica’s car with sparklers, the effect was stunning. I posted a few photos taken from Idamae below.

Our Wedding

Saturday, August 16th, 2008 at 4:00 pm

Our wedding was a success! The weather was hot but the church was not too hot. The decorations were beautiful. I was told that during a wedding one thing will go wrong. The only thing I can think of is that the unity candle would not light. I had to dump the wax out of the candle to get it to light. Our first kiss was outstanding! I’ve enclosed a few photos of us getting ready for our wedding below. These photos were lovingly taken by Idamae. We expect the photos from our wedding photographer to arrive in three weeks. As soon as those arrive I’ll post them as well.

Kevin’s Work Picnic

Saturday, August 9th, 2008 at 5:48 pm

For the fourth year in a row, Kevin Keefe did an outstanding job hosting our work picnic. This was the biggest picnic yet, with nearly 20 people there at different times throughout the day. The food was terrific, check out the A-Team cake! I can’t wait until next year’s picnic!

Sunny’s Work Picnic

Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 4:00 pm

Sunny’s company knows how to put on a picnic! We walked onto the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry and were whisked away to Bruce’s house on the beach. The beach houses were beautiful – Bruce’s son gave us a tour – and the view was awesome. The weather was warm and the catered lunch was great.

We decorated seashells, which was fun, I am always amazed at how creative Sunny is. I am looking forward to October when Sunny will create a pumpkin masterpiece for Halloween. We were also able to spend a lot of time together walking along the beach, and it was fun getting to know the people Sunny works with.

Vacation to Lake Chelan

Monday, July 14th, 2008 at 7:36 am

I went on vacation for three days to Lake Chelan with Sunny’s family. We stayed at a condo right on the beach. Sunny’s family has been vacationing at Lake Chelan for nearly 30 years, so Sunny really knew the lake! The weather was perfect, not too hot, and the water was cold. We laid on the beach, swam, and took the boat out for inter-tubing and waterskiing. My favorite was when we took the boat to Safety Harbor. We followed the river to a small pool where we swam in the cool water. The first night we barbecued thinly sliced flank steak marinated in teriyaki sauce – it was beautiful! I posted a few of the photos below. You can see many more photos on my Web Gallery.

Teatro Zin Zanni

Friday, July 11th, 2008 at 6:59 am

Khai’s sister, Yuen, got us tickets to Teatro Zin Zanni! Khai’s Mom, Thuy, Mom, Dad, Khai, and Idamae joined Sunny and I at the theater. The five course dinner was fantastic, but the performers really stole the show.

My favorite act was two Germans who played a love struck duo. They climbed all over each other, perilously high above the floor on a rope swing. But the funniest act must have been when three French brothers rolled objects in the air using only their legs. At one time one of the brothers spun another performer through the air!

Throughout the evening the performers pulled members of the audience out to join the performance. Overall Teatro Zin Zanni was a really fun event, but very expensive. At that price, it’ll be a long while before I come back.
