Today we celebrated Mother’s Day. Our first stop was to the Ver Hoeven side.
Kevin has a very large family on both sides, so usually his parents host at their house. They have this 40 person table that runs almost the entire length of the house. It stretches from the dinning-room to the living room. But this time it was a bit more intimate with only about 15 of us. We did miss Khai, who usually likes to take a good snooze on the couch after a good homemade meal. However we did have Uncle Richard who is the family photographer.
Out next visit was to the Andersen’s. Ian and Dria had everyone over to their new house on Magnolia. My side of the family is much smaller with a total of about 12. But that’s a good number for us, cause anymore than that might get a bit out of control. We’re still working on our table manner’s sometimes food in thrown and if it’s a really good dinner some of us lick our plates. As you can see in the photos above we might get a little silly at times.
For some couples, choosing where to go on a holiday would be hard. But fortunately, both our families live close and are very important to us, so we are able to celebrate these special times with everyone.
Let’s go out and pick some flowers
And make a big bouquet;
We must bring a special gift
To Mom on Mother’s Day!
Here’s a rose, and there’s a daisy
For our Mom’s bouquet,
Pretty flowers to show we love her
More and more each day!
