Canoe through Lily Pads

Sunday, August 30th, 2009 at 5:33 am

We rented canoes at the University of Washington and rowed through the lily pads around the arboretum. I can’t believe we haven’t done this before, we had a great time! We packed a lunch and spent hours rowing around small islands of reeds and clumps of trees. And we stayed afloat!

Sunny and I visited Grandma Minty today. We spent the evening chatting on the roof of the building, overlooking the city. Seattle looks very pretty from Queen Anne.

Vacation to Silverwood

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 at 5:19 am

Alvin, Nora, Sunny and I took a road trip to Silverwood, near Coeur d’Alene Idaho. Silverwood is a park split into two parts – half filled with water slides and the other with roller coasters. The drive to Silverwood was brutal, we were crowded in my car. But the park was beautiful. We arrived at Round Lake State Park after dark and quickly setup our tents. Round Lake is a pretty lake surrounded by tree topped hills. The next morning we ate breakfast at a diner on the road to Silverwood. Click here to continue…

Early in the day we visited Grandma Minty. For our one year anniversary we ate dinner at Ray’s Boathouse in Ballard. Having our photo taken at sunset in front of the Rays sign was very difficult!

1 year

Sunday, August 16th, 2009 at 4:42 am

As much as it seems like our beautiful wedding day was just yesterday, it also seems like we have been together forever. It’s hard to imagine myself without my husband/Kevin.

Today is ourĀ one year wedding anniversary. It seems like just yesterday that I was marrying my best friend. I must say, time has flown since that incredible day. I am so thankful for all of the experiences thatĀ Kevin and I have shared and for the fact that our love for each other grows deeper every day. I am excited to embark on new adventures together and to see what the future holds for us, but mostly, I am excited to have such a wonderful partner in life.

This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding.

Saturday, August 15th, 2009 at 5:13 am

During the summer a local jazz band performs at the park at the Ballard Locks. The jazz is uplifting. We listened to the show then walked around the locks.

Kenny Chesney Concert

Saturday, August 1st, 2009 at 4:57 am

Sunny and I attended Kenny Chesney’s Sun City Carnival tour at Quest Field, where we saw Montgomery Gentry, Sugarland, and Kenny Chesney perform. The concert was awesome! Sugarland was amazing and Montgomery Gentry was really entertaining. But Kenny Chesney did not disappoint. His concert was a blast of light, color, and sound. Really entertaining. His songs fit the open air concert perfectly.
